Cool Permanently hiding selected objects (not objects-by-category)

I've heard this may be in the works, but here's my two cents' worth. When using Hide/Isolate, there should be a checkbox for hiding selected objects permanently, not only for entire categories of objects...

I'm only fairly new to Revit as well, but after 10 years of using AutoCAD (and customising it heavily to do what I wanted it to), I think this is the closest thing to a 'perfect CAD package' that I've ever seen. I've been looking for gaps that are serious enough to justify an API (partly to keep my customisation work), but as yet have found nothing severe that is wanting.

One work-around is to put those objects in a special work-set, then turn that workset's visibility off.

I'm assuming the objects are needed for something and cannot just be deleted from the model.

( Interesting to see you comments on an API. Pretty much every other developer thinks an API is a necessity , so another viewpoint is a breath of fresh air )

Yes, this would be great, seems very odd that you cant hide an object then print that view as it appears on screen?? I would use this a lot for example in internal 3D views, sometimes you need to "knock down" a wall to stand further back.. at the moment I have delete things temporarily (I dont know how to use worksets yet!!)
