Red face Custom Symbols not displaying from customised font file

So here is the story. We use a font called Handlet.SHX, for some reason it's character mapping didn't include symbols. A former employee added the charcters we needed, the degree symbol and the plus minus symbol and he says he got it to work. All this happen before me. We are currently running AutoCAD Lt 2007, he fixed the problem with a full version 2002. The font for whatever reason is not showing the symbols in either the full version of 2002 or the LT 2007. When I get on his old computer I can view the shx file through a program he had and the symbols are there, AutoCAD leaves a blank for them. Actually if I dimension an angle w/ Handlet there is a space after the numbers and if you switch the font the degree sign appears. Any help is very much apperciated!!!!!

Make sure the modified SHX file is in a folder that is listed in the Support File Search Path. You will have to make sure that that folder is listed before the folder that contains the unmodified file.
