    Default New to Workset World

Can someone explain how this workset is created?
This is what I have learnt thru reading so far
    1. Create a new project (ok..I know this)
    2. Create new worksets (How many? Which ones....Floor Plans, Elevations?)
    3. Then File Save As Central..in the server
    4. Open Central again then save as local, in you hardDrive (Am I correct so far?)

Dang!! This workset thingy doesn't sink in my head....Need your help guys

    1. start a new project
    2. enable workset (i like to use the workset tool bar)
    3. make worsets (if you want, not critical at this point)
    4. saveas (make sure make this central is checked).
    5. close
    6. copy central file to another location (i use my harddrive and i like physically copying it, just more reasurance it is done)
    7. open, you will get a dialogue that says blah blah blah, this is not central, blah, blah, want to make a local.
    8. check yes.

now you are on the road to worksets.

hope this is what you are looking for.

It sounds like you may not understand the purpose of worksets. They are a tool to allow multiple people to work on a revit project at the same time. So you want to create worksets to "break" the model down into pieces that follow your companies workflow. For example. I usually have a core and shell workset, that one person would typically work on, then an interiors workset, finishes workset, and a site workset. But with element borrowing you don't actually need many worksets. So they really become benefitial on large projects where you only want to open a portion of the model to work on due to hardware limitations.
