Default Plotting All Black To PDF

I have a ? about plotting. In this case I am dealing with dwg's I have actually
not started but making changes. In that combination there are dwg's that have
layer colors set and left to display as such. When I send file to plot to PDF I set
the driver to make all colors black. This works on some dwgs and not on others.
In those cases I have to either set all layers to color by block which works some
times, or go to each layer and set it to white. which seems to work all the time.
Does anybody know what setting couls be different that causes setting the
pltter to control it not work. I cannot find anything different to my knowledge.
    Thanks
    Bob

Are you using True Colors? CTB plotting does not control, to my knowledge, entities or layers that are set to True Color.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

    Hi "robert.wolfe"

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

I keep asking myself why there is so much mass confusion with plotting.
Couldn't AutoDesk make things harder? For a first time software user, good luck.

I had to create a monochrome plot style and use it for all my prints.

well where would I set this true color exactly??
I can take 2 dwg files both seem to be set up exactly the same (as far as I can tell)
yet when I set output in printer menu to all colors to black one will
print black the other half-tone or shades of grey. Icannot find anyplace
color was set differently from one dwg to the other??
    Thanks

When plotting, especially to PDF's, the actual plot color/b-w is, IMHO, better controlled by the printer driver rather than Acad/Revit software driver. When time to select printer - chosse properties and select color or b/w. Then your drawings are never changed. Only the plot.
