Default Multiple Visibility States - Is there a better Way?

    Guys,

Please check out what am I doing with my vis states to see if I have gone way overboard or if this is the way you guys do it too.

Is there a better way? Am I doing something wrong? Is 2007 any better?

    Thanks,
    Will

    nice block!

how did you get the lookups to work with visiblity states? i would have never thought about doing that.

    Lookup 1 Lookup2 Lookup3
    1 mullion 45 degrees 1 mullion
    2 mullion 60 degrees 2 mullion
    3 mullion 90 degrees 3 mullion

    Vis state would be:

    1m-45-1m
    1m-45-2m
    1m-45-3m
    1m-60-1m
    1m-60-2m
    1m-60-3m
    1m-90-1m
    1m-90-2m
    1m-60-3m
    2m-45-1m
    2m-45-2m....etc.

It continues all the way down. Then you have to show and hide each lookup during its coresponding vis state. Very time consuming.

    Is this clear?

Chad, check out the FIXTURE here, i believe i used vis states in the lookup....
Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.

time consuming is right! i've done some like that, but not as complicated. have you done anything with referencing other lookups in the lookup? i haven't been able to wrap my mind around that one yet.

if you need a block that does that, then i don't see another option. i haven't upped to 2007 yet myself, so i don't know. i will soon tho.

No I haven't figured that one out yet. I tried to use the bolt in the AutoCad sample drawings to study but it's pretty illusive.

OK what whjdr did with this dynamic block is what I was trying to do with the weld symbol. By the way I seen the one that comes with Autocad and it doesn't have any leader options (tail, field weld, all around weld) and that is what I'm trying to add. The quick explanation that was given on how he did what he did I don't understand. I'm using LT does that hinder some of my capabilities with DB?

Ok, I'll try. If you'll notice the vis states are setup to show each scenario.

The lookups allow for 0 or 1 mullion on the left side, 0 or 1 mullion on the right side, and insulated or non-insulated glass. Otherwise 0m or 1m, 0m or 1m, or IG or NIG.
    0m-0m-ig
    0m-0m-nig
    0m-1m-ig
    0m-1m-nig
    1m-0m-ig
    1m-0m-nig
    1m-1m-ig
    1m-1m-nig

There are 8 possible combinations. You have to put 8 lookups at each lookup position and then either hide or show the lookups and the drawing data to produce the desired look.

Simple right? Not really but that's the jist of it.

    Hope that helps,
