The cui will become read only to 2006.

If the need should arise, is it possible to do a "transfer" from the read-only '07 cui to an new '06 cui?

I have not tried it. You can still use the same CUI for both versions. The '06 version just will not be allowed to modify it.

The big problem comes in that the 06 doesn't have some things that the 07 has. For example, the ability to modify double click actions. 06 does not have it. So when a CUI from 06 is transferred to 07, this entire feature (the ability to double click things and get CAD to do what you want) will not be there. Trust me. I know this one from experience.

As for going from a 07 CUI to an 06 one .. I didn't think it was possible ... aren't CAD programs "non forward compatible"? That is, 06 can't read an 07 file ... so why would an 07 CUI file work in an 06 machine?
