    Question viewports limited to 3

    Hi all,
Hope your holiday were happy happy.

Here's my situation. We're working on a very large sewer project with LDT 2004.
There are over 45 tabs. Usually with our plan and profile setups, there's only 2 viewports to worry about, per tab.

But, were trying to show some extra info on some of the pages, but when we create a third and fourth viewport one of the other turn off. It seems like we can only have 3 on at a time, per tab. I don't recall regular AutoCAD ever doing this, but this isn't regular cad, it's LDT 2004.

Has anyone else had this happen? I would think there is a toggle mode to set to correct this, but I'm not having any luck finding one for this.
Thanks for any help regarding this lil prob.

    Have a safe New Year!

I've never had that happen on 2004, but I do know that on 2006 which we use now, there is an issue with clipped vports. are any of them clipped?

By clipped, you mean custom shaped viewports, right?
A few of them are normal set viewports, but some are made from odd shapes.
I tried this just using the regular setup with viewports, and still encountered this problem. Anything more then 3, and the last one created prior to the new one, turns off.
    It's really irking me!

the ADT/vanilla command to fix this is MAXACTVP - set it to a higher number, 16 to 32 should be fine depending on how many you use on a regular basis. i would guess LDT uses the same command.

Yep. We don't use them anymore, because of the fact we would end up with corrupt drawings, yet no one has had an answer yet to the issue. As for no more than 3, I'm really not sure - not heard of that before your post.

I think I would try Chad's suggestion & see if that helps. I'm going to go see if it makes a difference, too!
