Summary: Have the option to not write unique named file for using the the CC identical part in an assembly and have it compatable with Vault

Description: Be able to use Content Center with Vault. Currently every instance of a content center component that goes into an assembly gets a unique name. For instance we put our part number on every item we buy. We don't use generic or vendor part numbers other than for reference. So with that said, if I place a hydraulic fitting in an assembly then create a new assembly and place in the same fitting they have 2 unique filenames, so we have 2 of the same parts with different names in vault. That is not acceptable in our company, because when you double up part numbers you double up inventory of the same part. To us content center is for modeling purposes only. It is not friendly in putting in our own part number, nor in the creation of idws for purchasing to use.

Its for this reason, that CC is virtually useless to us. That ties in directly with Tube and Pipe and Wire Harness in IVP.

Thanks!

How Used: All content center component can have our part number on it, and components can be reused not recreated for every assembly it's used in.

Currently the only way we use it is create an iam, insert the CC part and then take that CC part and do a SaveCopyAs and put our p/n on it. Moreless we copy out the CC part and treat it as any other IV file.
