    Hello All,

I'm looking at purchasing a new printer for specifically printing 11x17 or larger. I prefer HP as the brand adn was wondering if anyone has any experience with either the HP 1220 series, HP 1700 series or HP 2600 series.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks,

    Les

I bought a 1220C a couple of years ago, and I'm really happy with it. No problems, very good photographic quality, you get new printer headers each time you change the cartridges, it can print full DIN A3 without borders (well, you must use A3+ and cut the borders to get a borderless A3).

The only thing I dislike is that I wasn't able to load thick (Canson) paper. I've always loved to print on color Cansons.

I'm looking hard @ the HP Designjet 100. It does 11x17 & up to 24" wide sheet feed.

I looked at the HP 100 also, even though I already have a plotter.
I read somewhere that you must feed the paper from the rear and that's a little too annoying for me

I was thinking Dennis, since he's got an avatar of Darth Vader ops:

I've had great experience with the HP5000...works and works and works...

The HP100 sounds interesting, though I've not used or seen it myself.

I love just about any HP printer. The cartridges are expensive, so I would suggest looking at which printer supports the 42ml cartridges so you won't go broke replacing them all the time.

And those Revit guys kill me... Dark Fortress! LOL! At least you're nowhere near REDMOND!

We have a HP CP1700 series. Great printer, more features than the 1200 series 11x17 printers and has extra paper bins capacities. I also like the color/ black cartridges in the 1700 better than the 1200. The price is a little more but I think worth it. $550.00 + extra paper bin for 11x17 paper (I think) around $165.00. The 1200 series I saw this weekend at Staples at around $300.00 after a 100.00 rebate.
