Default Error 1328: Service Pack 1 will not install AutoCAD Mechanical 2007

I am coming across a service pack problem.

I was able to apply HotFix1 but not SP1.

It IS the right service pack, acm2007_swl_sp1.exe. (AutoCAD Mechanical 07)

The following is the error message i recieved.

Error 1328: Error applying patch to file
    C:\Config.msi\PT5b3.tmp. It has probably been
updated by other means, and can no longer be modified
by this patch. For more information contact your
    patch vendor.

Upon cancelling out of this i recieved a Error 1603: Contact Admin.

1.Is it safe to assume the 1603 error was caused by aborting the SP1 install?

2.Why can i not install this service pack ? and how do I go about installing it ?

Have a look at THIS and see if it helps. Post back if not.

I stumbled across this early but isn't Service Pack 1 the first service pack that needs to be installed on 07 ? ?

It sounds like because the hotfix was installed first, it may have messed up the sequence that things were supposed to happen.

In reading stuff related to this that I googled, I have a question: What version of Windows Installer is installed on your machine? Try updating to the latest version and try again.

The other solution that seemed to be prevalant was to uninstall and start over, but I would see if the above helps first.

    Hi "svanderputten"

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD 2007 General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

This Hot Fix was unable to be downloaded and installed properly from the autodesk website
yet i was able to update it through the communication center.

    Resolved, I guess.
