Default Invalid DBX file messages when opening a DWG file

    Hi,

I know there have been a lot of questions about proxy graphics / objects but I cannot see an answer for this.

I'm getting huge of error messages every time the scheme drawings are opened.

c:Program FilesAutoCAD 2007AecbPlumbingBase50.dbx is an invalid DBX file.
C:Program FilesAutoCAD 2007AecbPlumbingBase50.dbx is an invalid DBX file.
C:Program FilesAutoCAD 2007AecbBldSrv50.dbx is an invalid DBX file.
C:Program FilesAutoCAD 2007AecbBldSrv50.dbx is an invalid DBX file.

and the proxy information box is telling me more files are needed from Autodesk

As far as I'm aware the object enablers have been downloaded and when I search for what it requires the are no results.

Is there any way to isolate / select these object to explode / purge them out of my drawing

    Many Thanks

Are you running vanilla AutoCAD or ABS? If the former, do you have the ABS OE installed?

Should have said I'm on 2007 vanilla. I'm a bit confused, It doesn't mention anything about 2007 within any of the pull downs.

I recently downloaded the 2007 OE's from http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...75161#section1 and have just checked they definitely installed OK but am still getting all the error messages.

To be able to get rid of these thing would be the best option.

If I dxf out and in will the file size change much, will information be lost?

    regards

I tried to dxfout to a R12 dxf. The file size goes from 1meg to 11meg. When I try to open the file it come up with, Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded. Any suggestions?

I am having this issue with vanilla 2013. We have several different versions running in the office, no way around that - some MEP, some AutoCAD Mechanical, some REVIT, most vanilla Acad. No one is running AEC.

I've run the DGNpurge and got rid of a bunch of errors and orphaned linetypes, but there are tons of attempts to locate these missing DBX in the command history, and it adds a delay every time I insert a block. It's like yet another multiplying error like the layer filters or the linetypes that causes almost virus-like behavior. Does anyone know of a fix? I've tried cleaning up the block and the host drawing, with no luck. This is what my command history fills up with:

c:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2013\aecarchbase.dbx is an invalid DBX file.

c:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2013\aecbbldsrv.dbx is an invalid DBX file.

AEC content isn't just drawing entities, but also data attached at the drawing level. Its created by most of the vertical flavors - Mechanical, MEP, Civil3D, you name it. You can *try* to fix the block by using vanilla AutoCAD (I don't think a vertical "run as..." would work, but you can try) and downsaving to a ridiculously early DWG version, which *might* strip some of the newer information. You might also try to programmatically delete the AEC content dictionaries from the named object dictionary. But as soon as you load another drawing which prompts AutoCAD to load the object enabler you'll just end up polluting drawings as you go. If you are regularly going to be using other vertical content I'd just abandon the clean-up entirely instead of plugging the dike with your appendage of choice.

shouldn't ExporttoAutoCAD strip out AEC Content? vs saving back to R9...

Or AecToACAD on the vanilla side...
