I am having some trouble bringing some ProE files out to Cad the way I would like to. I'm looking for a translator to bring step files into AutoCAD 2005, 2006 or 2007.

Are you on subscription with Autodesk?
A copy of Inventor would do the trick.
We have Acad, Viz and Max but we do not have inventor. What is a subscription with AutoDesk? Is that something my company would have?
I don't really understand your thread title as IGES and STEP are two completely different file formats.
Some older versions of AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Mechanical had an IGES translator and I believe a STEP translator. All Mechanical Desktop versions have both translators. Same for Autodesk Inventor.
You might want to try posting the files at http://discussions.autodesk.com in the Inventor forum and ask someone to convert the files to ACIS (*.sat) format for you. Or check with the source of your Pro/E files and see if they can save as *.sat v7 or earlier.
An ACIS file can be opened directly in AutoCAD with the acisin command.
Ok so How do you export files as iges or step. If you wouldn't mind.Originally Posted by jmather
