Thread: "Circular chain of commands" error

    What is this error, what causes it, how do you avoid it and if it has occurred, how the hell do you get rid of it?

    i.e. A project has worksets, you go to save to central and the "circular chain of commands" error pops up, forbiding you to save to central. Do you need to save to local first, or what?

    I'm lost and confused! Help!

    I have found this when editing families too.

    I think it means that definitions ultimately refer back to themselves so that something I am trying to fix at a given point in 3d space is actually defined some way down the line as an offset from itself.

    I just fudged it because I didn't have time to work out how to resolve the matter.
