Anyone have a Dyn. Block like the attached screen shot. Where you can stretch the ends & the middle break symbol will re-center itself?

Funny, I'm friends with Mark & I forget he posted that block...
Thx for pointing me in the right direction....

Actually this block only works for linear stretching, & I really think it needs to be polar stretch. I haven't found a way to do so. Has anyone else?

I've played with it for a while now and have been unsuccessful in linking the polar stretch to lines that vary in angles / directions. Not just in that particular block, but in all blocks. I go back to it often in hopes that I might find a solution, but so far - uh, uh. no.Originally Posted by barry.40197

Ok, Dynamic Breakline...... I tried and tried and tried to get the polar stretch to work with this block with the insertion pt. and rotation axis at the center. For some reason the "reaction" line to main dragging line would either have strange behavior, or rotation would have some sort of multiplication factor and not remain in a straight line. (I tried using a polar parameter and an assortment of stretch actions, in pairs, along with chained parameter/action sets...argh!!)Originally Posted by barry.40197
Anyway!!! I stepped away from the problem and came back with new tactic... an alignment parameter and linear stretches.... with a couple surprise capabilities that I will let you uncover. (gotta let you unwrap something for Christmas!!)

Slick Idea. Alignment parameter. That's thinking outside the box. Sorta.Originally Posted by Chris.N
I'll uncover the goodies later. I'm going into panic mode at work as I have a major project due at the end of the month and not enough time to do it. Sigh. What else is new?

i won't spill the beans too much, but I'm working on a nice DB. I got the idea from someone here and I think I'm gonna take it and run with it. Hopefully in a week or two, I should have it all figured out and posted for everyone. Hope no one gets offended.Originally Posted by Chris.N

This one is great! But there has to be a way to have the routine to automatically insert the block if it is not in the file. The ET Break line command does just that. I am no lisp guru so I don't know how to make this work. Anyone has a solution?
