Is there anyway to save customized material template?
Hi
Are you referring to something like...
ID: TS1057005 - Copying materials from one drawing to another
ID: TS1065469 - Location of material libraries (MLI files)
Have a good one, Mike
Looks like not both of them that I want.Originally Posted by Mike.Perry
Sometimes I use the first one the get the customized material template.
But on the 2005 ver (I don't know with 2006 ver) there is quicker way. On Material Library Dialog Box (2005 ver) there's import an export system between current drawing and current library.
Case 1 : I use glass-clear material template with no texture map for visualize glassware, but the difuse color always grey, and I want it as white so I always change it. Can I save my own glass-clear template with white color?
Case 2 : I usually use advanced template for most thing I created eg wooden cabinet, floor tile etc but with different setting like different reflection or self illumination. Can I save it for a specific material template?
So you're not talking about 2007?
2005 and 2006 (and back to R12) allow you to create your own materials library (.MLI filetype) and/or save your customised materials to either a new library or to the standard library.
I'm still tallking about 2007, that's why I asking this question. While 2005 have that capability, why 2007 don't (or hiding somewhere?) ?Originally Posted by jaberwok
Both case I mention is for 2007.
If you're talking about creating custom materials and saving them to a palette, you can either copy & paste an existing material, then modify it accordingly; or create a new material from scratch. Then you can drag your custom material to the material library so it will be available to other drawings.
....Or right click on the customized material and choose 'Export to Active Tool Pallete'
Thx, you all are great....
