Hi Cory,
Grips work for me. Check to see if you have Enable Grips checked on the selection tab FORMAT - Options.
Hope this helps,

Some see the glass as half full, others as half empty. As an engineer I see the glass as twice as big as it needs to be. ~Unknown~
Have you tried mass elements? They have lots of grips and options to pull faces/split faces. And in the end you can convert them to solids if you like.
Also it may be that the objects were created in 2007 and saved back to 2004 file format.
3D solids created from mass elems are worse lol i made 1 and it only had 1 grip. I only use 07 a. Heres a pic of whats happening

I think mass elements may be the way to go considering the geometry you are trying to create. I drew a quick recreation of the drawing you posted with solids. Everything was fine until I unioned all of the geometry together. When I did this I only had one grip available just like you (See first picture). After converting it to a mass element a multitude of grips were available (See second picture)
Hope this helps,

Once you create the mass element, select it, right click and choose convert to free form mass element.Originally Posted by Mr Cory
If that pic is a pic of an autocad 3D solid, I have no idea whats going on. You might try posting a question in the AutoCAD 3D forum for that stuff.
I always turn my solids into mass elems eventy because of the ability of controling the display reps, but i learnt to use Vanilla so i prefer to work with solids but its just a pain to adapt them with only 1 grip.
The soild i posted was created in ADT 07
If I make a simple 3D autocad solid using the dashboard in ADT 2007 with no acad cui loaded, the attached image shows I get grips for the cube I made.
How did you make your 3D solid?
