Exclamation Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Error when saving a .dwg

    Hi all

I recently got a problem with ADT 2006. Just started 5 days ago.
When starting up ADT 2006, everything is fine. But if I try to save/save as I get 2 errors and the ADT2006 closes down.

    Error 1 is:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
Program: ...ogram Files\Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006\acad.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Then the only option is to press "OK" now right after the 2. error occurs.

    Error 2 is:
    AutoCad Error Aborting
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434f4dh Exception at 7c812a5bh

Then the only option is to press "OK" now ADT 2006 simply closes.
    ADT 2006 is fully updated.

    The computer is a:
IBM Laptop T60 running XP PRO (SP2), 2 GB RAM, GFC: X1400 512mb.

On the Laptop is ADT 2007 and it works fine ... and Revit 9.1 also works fine... After some troubleshooting I started to uninstall Mircosoft .NET Framework 2.0 and 1 and Error 2 disappeared...but even if I reinstall or repair ADT2006, Error 1 is still there.

Looks like you might have a cicular reference going on. Check the project files you are working on using Reference Manager (not the one inside ADT) for circular refs.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. At this point I would run a repair on your installation of ADT if you haven't already.

You're not running over a Novell network are you? I used to get a sim error all the time, then we got rid of Novell, dosen't happen as much any more.

    Nope

Im thinking more and more its a M$ error ... but why only ADT2006 and not 2007 or Revit9.1... Im soon left with only reinstalling the OS...

Hmmm.... That's a bit severe. Is it only on your laptop that the error is generated and is it only on one file?

    *UPDATE*
Okay, now im totally confused | ... ill try to sum up the storyline.

    1. Had a laptop with win XP pro (Sp2) and ADT2006, ADT2007 and Revit9.1 (they are fully up to date)
    2. Suddenly without warning, I cant save any drawing in ADT2006...ADT2007 and revit9.1 still work a 100 %.
    3. I get the following error msg. as shown in my first post. and ADT2006 goes down. But the drawing is saved on my desktop. There is no error logs or anything.
    4. I try to reinstall and repair and look for any hotfix's nothing helps.
    5. I try to open the drawing on a nother computer and it works.
    6. Back on the laptop i cant even save a empty drawing now.
    7. I then try to open up one of the "half-saved" drawing from my desk-top and a new error msg. shows (Attached file "error3.jpg").
    8. After some troubleshooting on the new error msg. I then end up renaming the Acsign.arx file and now i can save again....
    9. So what does Acsign.arx do and whats the relation to the Visual C++ Runtime Library??
    10. Im now gonna do a full system reinstall of windows..but i would still like to now what the **** happen...

I got a similar problem. Can you tell me more in detail of how did you find ACSIGN.ARX
and what name do I have to change it to, can it be any name?
