Default Basics Question - "hovering and highlighting"

When you hover over an object it highlights, obvious. Is there a way to turn that feature off?

Maybe it is because I am on DayQuill for a cold but everytime the titleblock starts to "flash" when I move over the screen I start feeling motion sick

    Thanks for any information.

Not possible. (well.. if you check "Editable only" in the options bar on a workset enabled project then only elements you own will pre highlight.)

The pre highlighting behavior is integral to the selection process. Often you will need to "tab" over an object to chain up a selection, or to pass over a selection. I find it useful more than annoying.

    regards

Your highlighting stuff can be changed in Tools/Options/Selection under visual effects.

Hope this helps and I pray that you feel better.

You are talking Autocad dude... I am talking Revit. Sorry for not clarifying that sooner and yes, I am feeling better; thanks.

Stop hovering so long, keep moving, never had this problem unless you just aren't moving your mouse/

I have no idea what you mean.

When you move your mouse over an object, it highlights and when you move away, it "un-highlights". I was simply asking if there was a way to turn that option off, like in Autocad.

Again, sorry if I was confusing.

No. There is no such option.

I'm not sure, but if there was an option to do this, how would you know what you're picking? If you needed to tab through something, I can't see how you would be able to know what exactly it is you are selecting. Just a thought.

I understand that but the option is there in Autocad.
Maybe a Function key to toggle on/off the highlight feature. Most things I am picking I don't need to toggle through with the tab key. But if I needed to... "F11" or something. Just a thought.
