How to show section markers for callouts on plan?

Does anyone know a clever way to show section markers on a plan view for callouts of a section? I don't want to show the full building section markers on my detail plan views, but I do want to show markers for the detail sections which are created as callouts from the full building sections (therefore don't have their own section head markers).

Similarly, on my section details, I want to show horizontal "plan head symbols" referencing the plan details.

Use reference sections.....click the section tool and on the options bar, check the box "reference other view". Then pick the correct one from the list.

A classic case of not looking at the options bar! That certainly answers the main question.

However, if I want to show "horizontal section" markers on a section view that refer to plan details Revit does not allow that. Not so important but we do sometimes need to do it.

Building and Wall section types do not, but Detail Section will allow it. Building and Wall sections are meant for plumb representation of the building while the Detail section can be at any angle.
