Default Unable to use commands in AutoCAD LT 2007 until plotting as finished

I used to have ACAD LT2000, but lost it in a hard drive crash. I purchased LT2007 to replace it, and now when I plot a drawing, I have to wait until it's completed printing before I can issue a command to plot another drawing. In LT2000 I could open and plot drawings as fast as I could move my mouse. Is this a feature in 2007 that's new, and if so, can I turn it off? I have several projects that are 100+ pages long and really can't afford to wait while each drawings completes before printing the next one.

Check into turning on/off background plotting and check to see where your plotter is spooling the prints.
