The Factory has asked me to supply them with a list of video cards that are not working properly with Revit.
nVidia Compatibility
The Factory has tried to get nVidia's attention regarding compatibility problems with their hardware, but they have had no luck yet; I'm also trying to get someone to address the problem. Since nVidia only supplies chipsets to manfacturers we will try the manufacturers next.
Thanks to the efforts of a couple of users on this forum, nVidia cards have a chance of working with OpenGL in Revit:
Under the Nvidia Control Panel, 3D Settings->Adjust all image settings: first I tried checking "Extension Limit" but Revit still crashed. Then, I left this setting turned on and set the "Image Settings" to Best Performance and changed "Vertical Sync" to Force Off. Trilinear optimization and Anisotropic optimization are also unchecked.
Testing your Video Card
In Settings > Options > Graphics, enable OpenGL. You may enable overlay planes if you want, which may prevent regens after a dialog is dismissed from the screen. In a plan view, scroll in and out slowly and see if lines disappear in your view. If they do, your card and/or driver is not compatible. See if you have any other view errors in 2D and 3D views with OpenGL enabled.
- Please only report models of cards that are currently available -- we're not interested in cards you can't buy -- and preferably cards you have recently purchased. We're also more interested in CAD cards like the ATI FireGL and nVidia Quadro cards rather than gaming cards like the GeForce.
- Please post the manufacturer (PNY, Leadtek or Elsa) of your card. If you computer was built by HP or Dell, you may not be able to identify the actual manufacturer of the card
- Please post the model of your card (FX540, 1300, 1500, etc).
- Please post the driver version of your video card.
- Please post the manufacturer of your computer and the operating system.
- If you have a workaround that made the card work, you may post it, but we're interested in identifying cards that aren't working out of the box.
