Default Protecting files with a password?

Is it possible to protect my DWGs with a password. I'd like people to be able to view and print but not modify or erase. Is this possible and is it possible with LT?
    Thank you.

    Hello there Sara,
    Long time no see.
John B. is right CADLOCK works with AutoCAD LT.
It will keep your colleagues from messing up your drawings layers etc..
Next question is probably - "How to get a French company to accept the cost?"

For support files such as plot styles, tool palettes etc, we have them saved to a network folder so that my user account has full read/write access (for management reasons) but others only have read access. Basically it means that only I can change the files rather than allowing others users to change them.

I wonder if something similar could be set up for your drawing folders where users are given access rights on an individual basis through their windows user log ins.

CADLOCK looks good, if the cost implacations are acceptable to your company.
