    Default Exporting to earlier versions

    Good day!

We are having an issue in the office saving (exporting) to earlier non Civil 3D 2008 programs. This is our error:

    Command: _AecExportToAutoCAD2004
    Binding Xref "030200237-BASE"...
    ERROR: Xref-Bind failed (eWrongDatabase)
    ERROR: could not process Xrefs!

Obviously a problem with the XREF's, but I cannot narrow it down.

Is there an easier way to send files out to other consultants? We usually use ETRANSMIT, so for now we are inserting the XREF's into our sheets before saving them. Quite cumbersome.

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Sarah

I seem to recall an issue where the xrefs won't bind if there are C3D objects in them. Don't know of a good workaround for this however.

That's what I though. Grr, I suppose I had better look at the way we are creating our drawings. At the moment we are using data shortcuts for our base and design files and XREFing them into our individual sheets. I guess we should be using data shortcuts in the sheets themselves. Hopefully this will eliminate the propblem.

    Thanks for the insight!

It is specifically the grading objects that are the issue. It does not know what to do with them inorder to bind or insert them.
