Talking Move in increments of 5 and Rotate in increments of 10 degrees

Hey, I'm a beginner at dynamic blocks and I'm having some issues with the rotate command. This is what I want to do I have a block that needs to move in increments of 5', but I also need it to rotate at increments of 10 degrees. but the two commands are not working for me.

    any help will be appreciated

i am a bit confused with what you are trying to accomplish here. is the rotate supposed to happen at every 5 feet? or are they two different functions that just need to occur with the stated increments?

i'm assuming a move increment of 5', with rotation limited to 10%%D increments in the rotate parameter.

    Good Morning,

Here is my attempt to fix your problem with the rotate. I could not get the increment option in the rotate to work so I created a list of angles. If anyone else can help I would like to know also why the increment option doesn't seem to work.

If I selected increment, I could only see one stopping tick on the circle. With the list I see everyone of the angles that I put in. Any ideas?

I also like to include the rotate in the move or stretch so that the grips are never on top of each other and so that the rotate grip moves and rotates with the block.

Let me know how this works.

    Daryl,

That's the same problem I have, and I cannot figure out why the increment on the angle is not working.

The only thing you have to do to move the grips with the rotation is you need to add the move distance parameter to the rotate parameter.

    Thanks for everyones help.

Cool Re: Move in increments of 5 and Rotate in increments of 10 degrees

I don't know if this will help anyone figure this out. I took the drawing and opened it, then took the db and stripped of all parameters and actions. I noticed that even w/o the distance parameter the rotation parameter wouldn't work properly. I asked it to move in increments of 10 and the block would rotate 160, then 100, then another 100 degrees and that was it. Very interesting. I would almost recommend starting this block in a new fresh working environment, it may just be a AutoCAD weirdness.

Brenda, do you use the 'pre-gouped' parameters & actions? i almost gave up DB's because of those buggers. I don't use them and am able to better understand how the stuff goes together.

    Chris,

I do use some of the pre-grouped, but I stopped using them, because I find it easier to understand them when I do them from scratch.
