Question AutoCAD 2008 do the icons in VLIDE look odd

Although this is related to VLIDE, it's 2008-specific and you don't need any particular knowledge to try this, which is why it's in the 2008 section and not elsewhere.

In AutoCAD 2008, please enter the command VLIDE and have a look at the icons. Do they look normal or do they have funny colours?

The attached image shows the difference: the normal 2007 ones are shown on the top, the funny 2008 ones are below. The colours are not consistent: if you close AutoCAD and restart it, you may see all sorts of colours.

If you feel like being really helpful, please post and let me know if you had the problem, with details of your graphics card, driver, OS and RAM. Thanks!

I have had this effect since A2005, it is really wierd and I have no idea why it happens, sometimes I get no icons at all and have to guess which button is which.

In 2006 and 2007 the icons look fine every time I open Autocad.

I am running ABS2006 at the moment, although I do have ABS2007 as well and get this effect intermittently, it seems to be when I use the VLIDE a lot it happens, the first launch is usually OK, but subsequently it can go a bit awry.

keep the politics out of this....

just kidding... I noticed a color shift but din't think it to be too weird. I am used to switching the color theme on a lot of other software packages (especially on the PDA) so I guess I am used to the colors changing from time to time.

I've seen the odd colour thing back to 2000, but extremely rarely (once a year or something like that). In 2008 it happens every single time VLIDE is started (for me and others, but not everybody). I've also seen the icons show up as completely black squares in earlier releases. This has been rare, but not quite as rare as what's now happening in 2008 all the time. I suspect the black square thing is related to low system resources, but the 2008 colour thing happens when there should be no system resource problems at all (e.g. running 2008 alone on a high-spec system).
