Is there a way to set a key to return the speedpad to normal keyset?
All I see are red, green, and blue.

First off welcome to the nostromo club. Hope that your IT dept finally listened to you on where to get it from instead if Dell. As for the question at hand there is not a method of which I am aware of to go directly to the base keyset from a colored keyset. You just have to hit the cycle keyset button. But if anyone knew of a better way it would be madcadder...

Congrats on the N52 Robert!
Instead of using mode cycling on my N52. I have the D-Pad set up to do temporary toggling of the modes. If I press up, I get the red mode, back is green, etc. I tried using the wheel for cycling, but it just didn't fit my wants.
By the way, are you in AutoCAD 2008 yet? I seem to have problems with my N52 not firing the macro keys properly from time to time. For example, I'll hit the key for RECTANG, and I get a scan cancelled by CTRL+C error.
My only problem with 08 and the n52 so far is once and awhile the n52 seems to outpace what the command line can receive as an entry. But this also happens when I key in commands as well sometimes. I do not know if there is some delay setting in ACAD with the command line which I am unaware of that would effect my key in speed. I have also tried switching out the keyboard 3 different times, and that definitely is not the problem because it only happens in ACAD.
I was going to use the d-pad for line, circe, rectangle, etc.Originally Posted by CADDmanVA
I could set it to toggle states.
I want to use the wheel for zoom/window, regen, and click for zoom extents.
For some reason I cannot program the forward and backward motions.
Is there some special trick I need?
Programming the wheel is just like any other key on the pad from my experience. From what you've said, I believe you're programming text strings into each key. For my set up, I assigned macros (CTRL+Q, etc) to all my commands. AutoCAD was hanging up the way Marklabel said above using text strings for me too. Why not try a few macro keys and see what your results are?Originally Posted by Robert.Hall
Understood.
Some how I cannot even get the scroll wheel to
execute a single key. It should do that.
All it does is scroll for zoom in/zoom out.

Could you zip or rar your profile and post it? I'd like to see why it's acting like that. I can assign single key commands to the wheel, but I tend to roll it more than one click.Originally Posted by Robert.Hall
I clicked save after opening the editor and the blank settings were saved over the top of
my existing setup. I warn anyone who is using the editor to be careful.
I will post my seetings after I have them recreated.
Now you are officially a N52 user! I can't think of anyone (myself included) who hasn't done that at least once.Originally Posted by Robert.Hall
