Default ACA 2008 - Batch convert 2007 DWG format to 2004 DWG format

Is there some way to do this? I've got multiple files that are saved in 2007 format and I need to change them all to 2004 format, preferably all at once.

I'm trying to see if anything is out there before I go spending time writing something to do it. I've considered using scriptpro to run a script on all of them at once but I'm hitting a snag getting filedia back to 1 and then saving back down. saveas wants to save it in 2007 format each time. Properties>Open & Save tab is set to save to 2004 by default.

    Any ideas?

See attached, i just put this together for my company, we use 2007 LDT. This works great for LDT objects because you keep them AEC objects.

    Thanks guys.

That first tool is not available in my platform (or at least I couldn't find it).

Looking into TrueView. That might be the ticket, but I'm not sure that the original drawings are "authentic". We'll see.

I guess I should mention that I'm running AutoCAD Architecture 2008 as AutoCAD 2008... We're still using 2007 in production, though, so that is what this will be run from; Same thing though, we run ADT 2007 as AutoCAD 2007. Don't ask me why, I do not know. It was that way when I got here.

That worked like a charm! Converted about 75 files in a matter of 3 or 4 minutes.

    Thanks a lot!

Why do you need 2004 files? I am curious.

I have everything saved as 2000 LT files.
I want to ensure myself that I never have any file sharing issues.

Because our biggest client wants it that way, basically. They want consultants who aren't up on the latest release to be able to share files and not have to convert them. So, instead of making them convert their own files, we have to save down to 2004 format.

Someone got a batch of files in 2007 format and wanted to convert them quickly, in order to send them to someone else, I assume. I don't really know, I'm just the guy they call when they need something like that and don't know how to do it.

They don't always go the way I would have gone, but whaddya gonna do? They pays da bills...
