AutoCAD 2006 extrude along a path - Profile and path are tangential.

I have only extruded along paths in FormZ, years ago. I am attempting to do this in AutoCAD 2006 and I get this error message:

Profile and path are tangential.

What does this mean, and how do I fix it? I first tried to extrude a closed polyline along the path and that did not work. Then I tried extruding the profile 1/8" and extruding a face along the path. That is when I got the error message.

Try moving the profile so that is approximately centred on the end of the path pline.

Could it be my UCS setting?

Ahhhhhhhh! I missed the part about the profile being large than the curvature. (Or something like that.) I shortened the length of the profile and it worke fine.
