Default xref's no found in folder

I am opening an existing dwg that i know has a xref attached to it and the xref is in the correct folder and I keep getting an error that the xref can not be found.???
If I go in a re-attach it it's ok untill the next time I call up the drawing and I get the same error. I am using ADT 2005.
The retain xref changes is Checked, and Demand Load is Enable with Copy.???

I am having the same problem. The "store links index in drawing file" options is checked, but my xref manager still says the xref is either "not found" or "orphaned".

I have repeatedly saved the path, reloaded, or detached and completely reattached and saved path.

The referenced xref are in the same folder and have not been moved or altered.

Any advice would make me so happy.

    Thanks.

Orphaned shows up when someone deletes an xref from a drawing instead of detaching it. Try using full pathing and see if this helps.
