Default Copied Leader lines point back to original geometry

Probably a very stupid question, or actually Im hoping it is. I keep running into this problem. I draw an elevation with some notes with leaders pointing to several items. Then of course to save time on a similar elevation, I just simply copy the elevation to a new location in my paper space. For some reason, when the drawing is re-opened or I change scales, the leader arrows on the COPIED drawing, all want to go back to their original point of origin. If this doesnt make sense, see the attached PDF as an example. Is there some config setting I have set up wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    That's the beauty ( ) of qleader.
You could choose to use the older "dim[enter]lea[enter]" method; the results look the same but there is no "intelligence" there so they stay where you put them.

Another work-around is to block the leaders. After dropping the block on the new elevation, EXPLODE it. Works almost every time. I guess the blocking process toasts the associativity QLEADER makes.

does anyone know if that has been fixed in 08? That is the one reason why we have DIMASSOC set to 1 instead of 2

I haven't hear any users here complaining about it yet. I'm completely on the multi-leader bandwagon though. Once you use multi-leaders, you'll wonder how you got by in my opinion.

It's a new feature in AutoCAD 2008. This link goes to the New Feature Workshop, it's in Flash. From the menu on the left, select [Dimensions and Leaders] [Multileaders] [Create a Multileader]. They're pretty darn nifty, and useful.

Have you figured out how to use the align command without having your nearest vertical line become angled? That is currently the only downside I am seeing right now.

Hmm... I'm not sure how your annotation work. My annotations are two segments only. The segment coming off the object is at 0* or 45*, then the second segment to the annotation is 0*. You may want to try playing with the settings for the landing, that may hold the secret.

I see the idea behind having the leader lines reposition themselves to the
geometry changes. I am guessing that even with this feature there will
still be instances where the user has to readjust a leader line.
