Default AutoCAD 2007 - Start auto numbering in MText from something other than 1

I'm using AutoCAD 2007. I have a block of notes on a spec sheet and the notes have been setup to auto number each paragraph. Very nifty. Unfortunately for me, I was asked to maximize the space on the drawing by condensing the columns. I can't seem to find a way to tell the auto numbering to start from a number other than 1. Anyone know a way to do this?

I thought you could just put any number for your first note, and auto numbering would follow suit.. but I could be wrong..

I just tested this in a new MTEXT object, and you can start at any number, and AutoCAD will continue with the next number.

?? But the auto numbering doesn't allow me to type any numbers at all. When the numbering is turned on, it starts the numbers and that area can not be highlighted or edited.

Are you auto-numbering, or are you using bullets within the MTEXT?

In the text editor, under bullets & lists (see pic below) make sure that Allow Auto List is checked. Then you can start your list with any number. If Use Tab Delimeter Only is checked, you have to press tab after your number, not the spacebar, for Mtext to know you want to make a list.

Once you are in your list in the Mtext edit box, block the lines you want to start the numbers over again, right click, go to Bullets & Numbers, and chose Restart. It will start over with 1 (or A, what ever you are using) again.

NEVER MIND! I just reread your question and this does not pertain. I misunderstood it the first time.
