Default Scheduling AEC Objects in 'Element' files

    Hi Gang.

I am trying to put together a hotel tower in ADT 2007. I would like to create the hotel rooms as an 'element' that can be repeated numerous times, limiting the potential for rework further down the line. My question is how can I schedule the AEC Door & Wall objects that would be contained in the 'element'.

I have attached a file to show what i mean. No matter how hard i try, the schedule table will not pick up the door info.

Any tips or anything visibly wrong? Please advise!

    Thanks!

Sorry, but I do not have time at the moment to look at your file.

    Are you using Project Navigator?

Are you using a location property to pull information from the space into the door, for example, the room number, to make it part of the door identification? If so, you may need to attach a property set to the doors in your elements that includes a location property, so that the doors "sprout" a location grip. This was definitely needed in earlier versions; I have not tried it recently in later versions to see if that is still the case.

When using Project Navigator, ADT will "know" to pull the door data from the Construct, not the Element, so that you can have unique data for each instance of the Element, but you may need to attach a Property Set with a Location property in the Element to get the whole process started.

    That still stands correct David.

A quick and easy way to do this is to open the element and place the door schedule in the drawing and schedule all doors in the file. After placing the schedule, select it, right click and choose "Add All Property Sets..."
