    Default Thoughts on Mech-Q

We are running LT 2000 at work (haven't convinced them to upgrade yet), and they also have a third party add-on called Mech-Q installed. I was almost going to have them remove it because it seemed pretty worthless for our purposes, but then I saw it has some of the 3D Modeling options in it. I read in another post a lot of these addons just enable sections of the code for 3D in the LT versions, is this addon actually a decent one, at least as far as the 3D capability?

Mech-Q has a good reputation. I didn't realise that it also works with LT. I'd take a look at it.

The problem I've found when I've tinkered with it is that it has a "pre-made" library of nuts and bolts and such (which could be useful), but they're drawn as a single entity, every line in the drawing is continuous with all others, so selecting one selects the whole thing. When I try to explode, it explodes into "sections" of the drawing, not individual lines, arcs, fillets, etc. So I'd pretty much ignored it (our MIS guys hate it because apparently it's been known to cause some issues with our computers), until I found it has some of the 3D commands in it, such as extrude, and the 3D views and such... So I didn't know if it was a decent addon, or one of "those others".
I'll play with it some more and see if I can deal with it, thx.
