Problems Opening .DWG files via double-click method

Hi There

I am having a problem opening .dwg files by double clicking on the file on the desktop and it will not let you choose AutoCad from the 'Open With' list.

This I know is not a major problem but it would be handy to know if there is a fix to the problem.

You should have a list of "recommended" programs (knowing Windoze that would be Paint, Excel and Notepad...), you should also get the "Choose Program" option, select AutoCad from that list.

The other way to do it would be to open AutoCad and use the Open function from within the program, that should then default drawings to that program.

I have tried all the following and still no luck. The only one i havent tried is by opening it through the program and then seeing if it defaults.

You can edit the choices available in the "Open with..." right click action.... From My Computer, choose the Tools pulldown menu, and pick the Folder Options choice. then pick the FileTypes tab, and scroll down to DWG. highlight DWG, and pick the Advanced button,

From there you can set a new right click option to open in TrueView. the command line on my Pc is:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\DWG TrueView\DWGVIEWR.exe" %1
