Default Shadows and solid Filled Regions

Can someone please confirm the behaviour I am experiencing.

On a view which has shadows turned on, draw a Filled Region which has a Solid fill pattern, and the Background parameter is set to Transparent. Do the shadows turn off for you?

Chad, that is confirmed. I am doing some shadow diagrams - I use a filled region with diagonal hatch with transparent background now denoting additional shadow.

I am getting this as well. Does anyone have a way around this?

Also, how do you draw a solid fill and get a shadow to cast on top of it?

All 2D drafting objects sit on top of the picture plane.
The model is behind the picture plane.
All text is in front of the picture plane.

Solid filled regions nested inside a 3D family will cast shadows based on the height of any 3D elements in the family. And will receive shadows based as a surface would.
