Default Adding own jpeg images for materials use?

Hello all, this is my first post so hope i get some much needed help.

I've been using Revit now since March and found it very easy to use and navigate and found that i could overcome most problems i faced fairly quickly.

I am setting up a project template and want to add some of my own brick finishes into the material library as jpeg images. Is this possible and how do i do this if it is. I am using a multi office licence so I'm not to sure how the permissions are set up in the program files.

Hopefully this is not a problem though.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

You'll need the Accurender module, and specify a texture for your material. This texture most likely applies to rendered images only, and doesn't show in elevation or 3D views.

It is possible however to make more complex surface patterns, using a program to create/edit .pat files. Revit's standard .pat files are most often found in C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2008\Data. I'm not familiar with any editors, but my guess is they're fairly limited and not free of charge.

The use of 3rd party software is not supported by Autodesk.

In your Materials window, click on the button in the AccuRender area (Matl-Accu1.jpg). This will open the AccuRender material library. When adding my own image-mapped materials, I like to start with a similar material, edit it and save it as new. Bitmap materials can be found in the library called "BMCD2AR3." Pick a brick material, right-click on it and select Edit (Matl-Accu2.jpg). Then go to the Maps tab and edit the image by browsing to your new image (Matl-Accu3.jpg). When you're done, you can save the edited material to your USER material library. This is usually stored on your computer along with the Revit installation.

Is there a way to make the image not show as tiled when applied?
I want it to be a single image.

    Thanks

There is a tutorial in the AUGI Training Archive HERE You'll find how to apply Accurender materials and create your own here.

The tutorial is in three segments. Go to each thread titled segment and download the PDF of the segment there. The last segment is a zip file as it has a rvt attached to it along with bitmaps.

Segment 3 says "seamless tiling is nmot hard but not a subject for this tutorial". Any idea which tutorial - if any - it was discussed?
