Drawings with text using Aerial or San Serif plot Bold and Hollow

I HAVE A BRAND NEW HP THAT HAS AUTO CAD 2000 LOADED ON IT AND EVERY TIME I PRINT SOMETHING THAT ONE OF MY PREDECESSORS HAVE CREATED AND USED AERIAL OR SAN SERIF TEXT, IT GOES TO A BIG, BOLD AND HOLLOW DEFAULT TEXT. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM? THANK YOU, RIP

Rather than replace the existing text style, can you rename the text you want to use to the name of the text the drawings are using? Might be able to trick the drawing
file into using the desired font.

Sounds like a driver issue to me, it's not supporting your TrueType fonts.

Do a search on Driverguide.com or something for an updated driver, should sort it out.

It sounds to me that the needed fonts were never loaded onto this machine.

There is a variable called "FONTALT" that "Specifies the alternate font to be used when the specified font file cannot be located."

Try to re-set this and see what happens.
