Question Will Dwg Trueview 2008 convert 2008 dwgs to 2006?

I downloaded dwg trueview 2008, and tried to convert an ACA 2008 dwg file to ADT2006. The only options were 2000 and 2004 which allowed me to open drawing, but did not show aec objects.

Do I need to download an object enabler? I tried OEHotfix.2006.exe, but it did nothing

Why does it not have 2006 as an option?

    thanks

Both ADT 2005 and 2006 used the 2004 drawing format, so there would not be a separate option for those releases.

That said, Autodesk offers no program that can convert AEC objects from a given file format to a previous file format. You can look at them as proxy objects, or you can export the file to AutoCAD entities, losing the ADT/ACA objects completely. Either way, you will not be able to edit them in versions using a previous file format. If you leave the AEC objects in the file (proxy objects option), the ADT ARX files will not load, and you will not be able to add new AEC objects.

    Hi,

I am currently using ACA2008 at work & I have ADT2006 installed at home. I etransmitted my work, saving it as 2004. It opens fine at home but comes up with a error message to the tune of Arx error something. Is this a problem & will it be ok once I take the file back to work?

It means that you can view all ACA 2008 objects in 2004 but cannot edit them in 2004. As long as you don't explode the objects in 2004 you will be fine upon returning to work.
