Unhappy nvidia quadro fx problem with acad 2008?

This is my sad face. I am having a little trouble, and am hoping that someone can at least point me in the right troubleshooting direction. I have just started playing around with ACAD 2008, and the new rendering and modelling features. It was going pretty good, and I was getting some decent renderings. My autocad has been nagging me to upgrade the driver for my vide card (a nvidia quadro fx 500). I finally got around to downloading and installing the driver today, the driver version is 6.14.10.9185 from 3-19-2007. After installing, restarting the computer, and opening my file, the model was moving much slower, jumping, showing black triangles, and when I render all I get is a black screen. I tried uninstalling my maxtreme driver wondering if there was a conflict, it didn't seem to help. I tried installing the powerdraft driver from nvidia, but it doesn't recognize 2008. I've been googling for an hour trying to find something similar, but am not having any luck, maybe I am using the wrong search phrases. I'm pretty sure that there are some simple settings that I am missing, but I don't know where to look. I know I can roll back the driver, but I'd rather troubleshoot and fix the one I have if I can. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks to any and all.

You and me both. I went through all the settings and I cannot figure
out what is slowing down AutoCad and causing objects to
randomly appear in the drawing window. Of course, I did not draw
    any of the objects.

I have dual screens and if I turn on any of the Nvidia settings, I
    experience slowness while choosing points.

I tried powerdraft and found it to be useless.

All this computing power and nothing seems to run smoothly.

There are two issues with the Nvidia FX cards.

Run your 3dconfig in Autocad. View your "Tune Log" and check for updates. The most current driver may not necessarily be the "approved" Autodesk driver for your card. I have the FX 1500 and my current driver is the 91.36. This is critical to videocard performance.

Also, I have been in contact with Nvidia and Powerdraft2007 does not work with Autocad 2008. I was told the update should be coming this August...we'll see.

I too, was let down by my rather costly video card. The only real benefit seems to be the dual display capabilities and associated options.

With everything I have read Autocad performance boils down to three things...
    processor, processor, processor.

I checked the driver file and it seems to be current.
I think the card will have issues regardless of what I do.

    Steer away from Nvidia.

I too am having problems with 2008 (LT) and nVidia (an FX 1500). Often, if I scroll to zoom too quickly the display becomes pixellated - like a close-up of a bitmap. This sometimes happens spontaneously - ie not necessarily when scroll-zooming.
I am using Version 162.65 (latest) under XP SP2 with the 2008 LT SP1. This happens frequently - every hour at least and though I can usually close the drawing and reopen without losing anything, it is a pain and a waste of time.
Can anyone verify that this is a graphics card/driver problem or is it 2008?

I tried installing Powerdraft but it won't recognise that there is a version of 2008 on the machine (will it not work with LT?)

I am using a Quadro FX 1500 with the 11.6250 drivers and have not seen that issue with Civil-3D 2008.

Overall, the card seems to behave quite decently for me, although based on what I've been hearing from others, it's sounding like there are cheaper alternatives that work just as well or better (such as a GeForce 8800 series).

Doesn't matter if the drivers are the latest, if ACAD doesn't work with them, you'll have sluggish performance. Check the Autodesk website for the latest drivers that they do support. Just search for "graphics hardware." Might be you went further ahead than they did.

I am having this issue with 2011 and a Quadro FX1700 on a windows 7 (64bit) system. Did anyone find a solution?

I have found that I get the jumping when moving my cursor over objects and/or selecting individual objects.
