Is there a reason for this? The only thing I can think of is that your system has gone a little off track and with resetting the your profile and system variables you're hoping it will solve the problem. am I correct?Originally Posted by jack_fs2002
The simplest way, I guess, would be to uninstall and reinstall the product.Originally Posted by jack_fs2002
There is a Reset button for the profile but that won't reset everything.
Few of us share a PC for the drafting, different person has their own favorite settings, they change the settings for Options & system variable for their projectOriginally Posted by Beldin
The next person wouldn't know what the previous person changes, this is a problem, its difficult to control this situation
Anyone know the way without to re-install the software and return the Options & System Variable default settings? This will help me in a lot
Thanks !

I think setting up different accounts on the machine would be the answer. That way you'll each have your own settings as you want them. And if you do this then you'll automatically reset to the default settings for each user.Originally Posted by jack_fs2002
But the problem is all of us only allow to usie the same a/c other than the permanent staffOriginally Posted by Beldin

Okay then you could do it in CAD via the profiles. You might want to re-install the original to allow a fresh start and then set up profiles for each user. Then when that is done you can create shortcuts on the desktop by making a copy of the original shortcut going into properties and then adding a switch. So in affect you'll have a short cut that say's Fred and the switch in it will be something along the lines of blah-blah/acad.exe" /p "Fred".Originally Posted by jack_fs2002
This will mean that for each user they will have to open their own CAD which will retain their prefered settings.
Hope this will help matters.]]
This happen to me ago but I reset the default settings with profile way.Originally Posted by jack_fs2002
You should be using unique windows logins. But if you can't do that, Cad Rat gave you a good suggestion for managing multiple AutoCAD users with one windows login.
To answer your original question. Login to windows as a different user, one that has not used AutoCAD before. Then start AutoCAD and export that users AutoCAD profile. This will give you all the default settings without reinstalling.
