Default express layer states or layer states

i know in 2008 you can do this easily. but im using 2006

i need to change colors of an object in one vp and have it show a different color in the other vp. w/o using an xref

    example
normal floor plan and an all gray background plan.

i dont want to duplicate the plan. because many people will be handeling it and if the plan is modified i don't want to worry about the other plan not being current.

    any ideas

I don't believe there is any way to do that in 2006 except to duplicate the linework in question on multiple layers, and use VPFREEZE to display the correct one in each viewport.

    Look here for Loswitch.dvb
    http://www.dotsoft.com/freestuff.htm
I think it only works with the color of an entire layer, not individual objects though.
