    Default Summation

    can "calculated value" be used to get the summation of
    one individual column values in a schedule ?

    No, if you want a grand total at the bottom of a column...

    Edit Schedule properties
    Click formatting Tab > select column parameter name > Click Calculate Totals
    Click Sorting/Grouping tab > Check the Grand Totals box

    Partially correct , Steve.

    It doesn't work for foundation families. I introduced a shared parameter
    for the number of piles used in a pile cap, but just can't sum up the result
    in a schedule inside the project file, nor other parameters like width, length ..etc.

    What is the datatype of the parameter? If it isn't a number, length or area for example it won't calculate the total. Simpler to say it won't calculate the total if the datatype is text.
