Default Simple question involving sheet metal...

I'm working with Inventor, but this is really my first venture into the sheet metal aspect. I'm creating a basic box, nothing fancy. I want the edges flanged inside the shape, with the corners mitered, so I can spot weld them shut. Problem is, I can't get the flange to mitre when I go to create it. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Are you trying to use the contour flange, or the flange tool?

If you're in R2008, you can use the select loop option in either tool. If you click on the corner tab, there's a corner miter option that you can check that should take care of that for you (if I understand your question correctly).

If you're in R11 or earlier, you'll have to come in with the corner seam tool after the fact. R2008 made some nice improvements in this area.

    Hope this helps!

I'm using two flanges. I'll have to draw it up in AutoCAD and post it, this way I can show you what I'm looking for, not to mention I can't post .ipt files....

If you zip the *.ipt file you should be able to post it then.

I was pulled off this project for a high priority safety project. I will post again when the project is active.
