Default Dimension style with inches only

How do I create a dimension style that will show dimensions in inches and fractions of inches instead of feet and inches, e.g, 42-1/2" instead of 3'-6 1/2"

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Your dimstyle should be of type "fractional" not architectural. That should do it.

Make sure to include the inch mark as a suffix under the "primary units" tab of you dimstyle

Okay, that gives the dimension in inches, but it's rounding off to the nearest inch, even though I have the "round off" set at 1/8" in the Primary Units/Linear Dimensions dialog box.

What it the actual distance you are dimensioning? What do you get when you set the round off to 0.0?

To be clear, check your dimstyle under primary units, and check your format>units precision.

You got it. I had the precision set to zero. Thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.
