Arrow Named Plot Style OR Color Depemdent Plot Style

I have not been able to find good reasons supporting the use of either
Named Plot Styles (*.stb files) OR
Color Dependent Plot Styles (*.ctb files).

Is there any guideline on this matter?
What is the experience of the users out there?
I find the Named Plot Styles much easier to use (in Architectural work) however I would like to have your oppinion and experience.

Well I've read arguments on either side of this, I guess it depends on what you're used to.

Personally, I like using color dependent plotting (ctb).
It just seems easier to change a layer's color to a known pen weight on your .ctb file. Obviously, changing layer colors for desired line weights requires everything's color to be "ByLayer" like in nested blocks an xrefs.

Most of the standards we need to use (for outside client's standards) are using ctb files, and my companies' standards are based on color.

I don't use .stb type of plotting to argue against it.
Although I have converted a .ctb to an .stb when necessary (command: "convertctb").
This assigns a "style" (line weight) to the layers based on your desired pen weight from your ctb file.

But that's just me. I'm sure there are people out there that have valid arguments for using "named plot styles".

There's plenty of threads here about the subject. Do a quick advanced search and you should find lots. I'm more of a .stb guy myself, but our firm uses .ctb because they still associate line weight with color.
