Red face Viewport scale lists in "Properties" dialog?

Hi everyone, I couldn't find anything on this in the forums.

What variable sets the list of "viewport" scale options when in the properties dialog?

Example: A new employee is used to setting her viewport scale through the properties dialog, and instead of having the "architectural" scales like 1/4" = 1'-0" etc, she gets only civil scale choices like 1"=20' etc.

I assumed maybe it's driven by the "units" or "insunits" but when I changed these from "inch" to "decimal" or "feet" and even "engineering" or "unitless" it didn't help.

I don't use this method so it's new to me, I usually zoom "x/xp" for viewport scales.
I had her start a new drawing from our standard template which has the scale choices she needed and copy her work into that.

    Thanks

Check Options > User Preference > Edit Scale List ...or Scalelistedit (2006 and above I think)

Using 2004 here. I made a button, but user can substitute 1/20xp for necessary scale. Also, can make flyout toolbar for multiple scales and buttons. Just double click in vp, hit button, double click out of vp and lock it.

(COMMAND "zoom" "extents" "zoom" "1/20xp" "")(PRINC)

Thanks, and you're right "Scalelistedit" gets me to the available list.

However, this person was able to go from those "civil" scale options, to the "architectural" scale options by opening a new drawing.

This leads me to believe a "drawing variable" is driving what list you see, and not a "cadd station" preference setting (I may be wrong).

Try "AecDwgScaleSetup". It will bring up a dialog box with a list of scales. Go to the "units" tab and make sure drawing units is set to inches. This will change the scale list to architectural units.Set units to feet to change it back to engineering scales.

    Thank You!!
That's exactly the answer I was looking for.
Now I can hold my head up high, and help someone else with this info.

Wow! I've never seen that dialog box before. The display tab is almost like styles in 3CD. This could come in handy. Thanks.

I forget how I first found that dialog box. Now, when I need it I type "aec" and tab through all the commands because I can never remember that long name.

I just noticed I made it to the 100 Club!

Hmmm. "Aec...". Is this available in vanilla AutoCAD or is it part of a vertical?
