I have upgraded from 2000 to 2008 and cannot find a raster image import feature. I want to import a jpeg etc into my AutoCAD file. But am unable to find the avenue to use. Can you help me.

Give people a job worth doing, the tools to do it, recognition of a job well done & get out of the way.
...or just type in the IMAGE command, or the EXTERNALREFERENCES command, or the CLASSICIMAGE command...

it's a little pulldown button at the top of the the externalrefrences palette. the default view is for dwg, but if you click the little down arrow, many more options show up (dwg, image, dwf, dgn)
Upgrading from 2000 to 2008?!?!?! You've got a lot of cool new toys to learn about. I would suggest hitting the archived ATP courses and check out the courses on new features for ACAD 2k5, 2k6, 2k7, & 2k8. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the hit. In the Ext Ref menu, it has the proper path, but the status is not found. The file is in the proper folder.
