Split region/Assign layers

I have trying to assign layers to the regions I have created in the wall properties dialog box. I am able to create regions but I have been unsucessful at assigning new layers to these regions. I have read over and over the help menu with no results. Can anyone help me out on this? Does anyone else have the feeling that the help menu in Revit is sometimes useless? I hope that Autodesk changes the help menu in the next release of Revit!

First, there are no layers in Revit so no one knows what you are talking about. (Just kidding)

Can you post a screen shot of what you need?
