Thumbs up Plotting to my HP using Civil 3D 2007

My compnay is currently using ACAD Civil 3D 2007 (SP3), when I plot to our HP DesignJet 1050C using the Arch D 24x36 paper size, my plot prints at 25x36. Also my pen settings that I migrated from LDD seem to plot darker. Has anyone else ran into these issues, and please I know we need to update to C3D 2008, but I need a fix now in 2007.

    Thank you,
    Randy

Don't know why you would be seeing darker lines. What do you mean when you say you "migrated" them? You should have been able to use the exact same CTB or STB as you use in plain Autocad.

The 25x36 is probably due to the way HP plotters work. They have a built-in margin area that can't be plotted to. If the page margin in your page setup is beyond a certain size, it automatically adds that "buffer" to the top and bottom, because they will only print to within a certain distance of the edge of the paper.

They actually have the same problem in both directions. I noticed with our HP that if I told it I had a 36" roll on there, it would refuse to print a 24x36 in landscape mode. The only way I was able to force that to happen was to tell the plotter we had a 42" roll of paper on there - then it would print a 24x36 in landscape, but with an audible "thunk" as the printhead hit the far end of the paper and stopped suddenly.

It is possible that you can work around this by playing with the margins in the Paper Size settings in the printer properties.

I fixed the issue. I realized I was making it harder than it needed to be. I t seems the "powers that be" set up everyones plotters in Windows without all of the paper sizes loaded. Once I loaded the same paper size that I was printing to in CAD and set it to the default print, the problem was solved. Thanks for the reply.
