    Default array in an assembly

    Busy day today
I am trying to do an array of parts within an assembly. I pick the parts and then choose the direction that I want the array to go in. This is fine as long as I pick an edge of a part that is not part of a previouse array. If I do all the parts end up literally in a pile in the corner of the model. The trouble is all the parts, now I am towards the end of the model, are parts of a previouse array already. I could add a phantom part just to get a edge to work off but it seems odd to have to do this.
Has anyone else found this problem Is it a glitch or is there a workaround

    Any advice appreciated

    Many thanks

    Clive

hey there clive, i have trouble understanding your problem - as there are several options of performing and defining an array.

Could you please add a screenshot to make it visible of what you want to do the arry of??

In case you want to array the parts of a bolted connection over the holes of a plate (for example - you may use the first option "feature pattern select"

Is it arraying all the other arrays and everything in them as well?
